Massillon entered the season as the defending Division II state champion. In 2024 they completed the regular season with an 8-2 record, including signature wins over NFL Academy-London, Buffalo’s Canisius, Lakewood St. Edward and Canton McKinley. The NFL game was played at the Nike complex in Eugene, Oregon as part of the Nike Kickoff Classic. The win over St. Edward was the third straight over the 2-time defending Division I state champion. The win over McKinley was the ninth straight. In the post-season the Tigers were seeded 3rd in Region 7 and advanced to the regional finals before being upset 14-7 by No. 1 Seed Big Walnut. A second half kickoff return for a touchdown was the difference on the scoreboard. Ja’Meir Gamble tallied 126 points and rushed for 1,636 yards. Jalen Slaughter passed for 2,363 yards and 22 touchdowns. Braylyn Toles caught 53 passes, nearly eclipsing the career receiving record. Michael Wright Jr. ends his career as the all-time leader in sacks and tackles-for-loss. Fourteen players were selected All-District.
