Tiger football family, thank you for coming to tonight’s game and supporting our Massillon Tigers!! I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Rob Maylor and I will be your Massillon Tiger Footbll Booster Club (MTFBC) president for the 2023 season. I am a former Tiger football player and graduate of Washington High School (Class of ’82). My motto for this year’s season is “One Tiger Family.” I believe that what we have here in Massillon is truly a “family.” It is extremely special and I would like to invite you to be a part of the “Granddaddy of all booster clubs.” It is a way for you to be a part of our team and help with some of the exciting projects we do to help our Tigers. Activities include: working with club membership drives, discount card sales, Monte Carlo Night, Tiger lift-a-thon and the Tiger golf outing. These are events that we could use YOU to help US keep our Tigers fed and looking great and continuing our great tradition by setting the gold standard for all other football booster club programs.
Being a part of the MTFBC is an opportunity to not only help the Tigers and get close to the team but to cultivate friendships with fellow Tigers in helping us keep our program elite and unlike any other. We welcome new, fresh ideas and enthusiasm and hope you will consider being a part of it!!
This year is going to be HISTORIC for several reasons. Not only do we have top tier teams on it, but we will play in a nationally watched game against the Valdosta Wildcats from Georgia in what is being considered the “high school game of the century.” The game pits two of the winningest programs in high school football history, with 1876 total wins between us!! Along with several out of state powers from Indiana, Delaware and Washington D.C. areas, the Tigers face 2-time defending Division 1 state champ St. Edward Eagles and then finish up with the team from the east. This season promises to be one of the most challenging schedules our Tigers may have ever had, but I’m positive our team will rise to the challenge!!
Massillon football is in our DNA. It is what makes us and our town special and what has made us nationally known. I am so very proud and honored to be your Tiger Booster Club president this year. I have grown up here from birth and it means the world to me to share what I know we all love with the entire country, that Massillon Tiger football is and will always be unequaled!!
