Noteworthy Items: (1) The Tigers defeated New Castle 13-0, giving the Pennsylvania team its first home field loss in three years. During the game, Charley Anderson set a Tiger record with a 68-yard punt. (2) Both Massillon and Canton McKinley entered the finale undefeated. McKinley Coach Johnny Reed suffered his first career loss in 45 games when Massillon took it to the Bulldogs, 21-0. Reed had previously won 35 in a row at North Braddock, PA, prior to taking over at McKinley. For Massillon, it was 20 wins in a row and consecutive state and national titles.
