Noteworthy Items: Massillon (9-1) captured the state title, in spite of an early 19-7 loss to No. 2 Alliance (9-1), which snapped the Tigers’ 25-game winning streak. The Tigers had defeated No. 3 Canton McKinley (8-2) 26-6, rolling up over 400 yards of offense. They also beat No. 4 Mansfield (9-1), 18-0, whereas Alliance lost 26-6 to Canton McKinley. The Bulldogs also lost to unranked Warren Harding 7-6.
