Noteworthy Items: (1) Massillon dropped its opener to Mentor 19-0.  The Cardinals finished the season 10-0, but were voted 2nd in the final state poll behind Upper Arlington.  Mentor and Upper Arlington squared off in the 1969 season opener, with Mentor losing 7-6.  (2) The Tigers broke Niles’ 63-game home winning streak with a 16-8 victory, breaking the tie with a fourth quarter TD by Jim Smith.  Smith finished the season with 1,022 yards rushing.
