Noteworthy Items: (1) Massillon dedicated Tiger Stadium with a 40-13 victory over Cleveland Cathedral Latin, breaking the Lions’ 17-game winning streak. Tommy “Red” James scored Massillon’s first points in the new stadium on a 39-yard run in the first quarter. (2) Newly opened Fawcett Stadium hosted its first Massillon-McKinley game, with the Tigers winning, 20-6. (3) It was the third highest scoring team per game in Massillon history (46 ppg).
