Noteworthy Items: Massillon, in spite of high optimism prior to the season, dropped their opener 9-7 to a good Barberton team in the Akron Rubber Bowl. However, the Tigers got revenge against Gahanna Lincoln for the previous year’s loss the following week, scoring late to take a 28-22 decision. (2) Warren scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull out a 22-21 victory over the Tigers.  (3) In spite of losing two games by a total of three points, Massillon upset unbeaten Canton McKinley 21-0 in the finale. The Bulldogs would later lose 14-3 to Cincinnati Moeller in the state finals.
