Profile:
After an outstanding football career at Franklin Heights High School in Columbus, Ohio, Jason Hall went on to star at the University of Mount Union. From 1995 to 1998 the Purple Raiders were an astounding 54 and 1 with three Collegiate Division III National Championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998. In 1998 Jason
was named 1st team All-American by the Associated Press, Football News Magazine and the American Football Coaches Association. Jason still holds the Mount record for the most career tackles with 521. This record will likely stand for quite some time as the second place individual had but 352 tackles.
Upon graduation from Mount Union in 1999, Coach Hall started an impressive coaching career as a graduate assistant linebackers coach at his collegiate alma mater. In 2000 Jason was named defensive coordinator at Gnadenhutten Indian Valley where his team went 6-4. In 2001 Coach Hall moved on to be defensive coordinator at Ravenna Southeastern and the next year he was named head coach. In 2003 he led the
Southeastern team to three consecutive winning seasons and its first playoff appearance.
In 2004 Coach Hall took over a losing program at Lyndhurst Brush. After going 1-9 in 2004, he led the Arcs to the playoffs in 2005 reaching the regional semi-finals and winning the first playoff game in school history. In 2005 Coach Hall was named the Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the year, the Cleveland Touchdown Club Coach of the year and the state of Ohio Division I Co-coach of the year. He was also honored by
being selected as a coach for the North – South Ohio All-star game.
In 2007 he took over the reigns at Nordonia and led the Knights to a 10 – 2 record and a trip to the regional semi-finals. Jason was again named the Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the year and the Cleveland Touchdown Club Coach of the year. He was again named to coach the North Team in the Ohio North – South All-star game. He also was honored as the Coach of the Year by the Akron Touchdown Club.
In 2008 Coach Hall was selected from a group of outstanding candidates to be the Head Coach of the Tigers.
In his seven season as Head Coach of the Tigers Coach Hall garnered many accomplishments and honors. In 2010 Jason was named Head Coach of the West squad in Stark County’s East – West All-star game. In 2012 he was named the WHBC Stark County Coach of the year. His teams compiled a 6 – 3 record against arch-rival Canton McKinley made the playoffs six times and his 2010 team reached the State Semi-finals.
In January 2015 Coach Hall left to take on the challenge of building the football program at Westlake High School in Westlake Ohio. The Demons were 3-7 in 2015, 2016, 0-10 in 2017. Coach Hall’s long record of turning around high school programs will be tested, but he surely will be more than up to the challenge.
Jason and his wife Katie have two daughters.
