Noteworthy Items: (1) Massillon surrendered just 51 points throughout the season, but could only manage to win six games. A 6-6 tie against Nordona and a 6-3 loss to heavy underdog Alliance did not sit too well with local fans. (2) Lakewood St. Edward lost to Cincinnati Moeller 14-12 in the state finals. Ed’s coach, Mike Currence, would became the headmaster of the Tigers the following year.
