Noteworthy Items: New head coach Mike Currence arrived in town with a new offense he called the “run-and-shoot,” a pass-heavy scheme intermingled with misdirection runs, in sharp contrast to previous decades of full house-T, power-I and wing-T offenses. (2) The Tigers lost their first two games in driving rainstorms to Middletown and Gahanna Lincoln; Massillon and Middletown combined for 18 fumbles and 6 lost balls. Massillon also funbled ten times against Lincoln, losing 4. (3) The Tigers won their last eight games to finish 8-2.
